[ARCHIVED] CFR’s Technical Rescue Trailer hits the road

Fire Trailer 2

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- Clarksville Fire Resue’s new Technical Rescue Trailer made its maiden voyage early Tuesday morning, deploying to the scene of a vehicle extrication involving an individual trapped under a car inside of a home.

“One of the first things I observed about Clarksville Fire Rescue is the dedication and commitment of its staff. Plus, with our rapid pace of growth, we see many unique emergencies in a city as vibrant as Clarksville,” Fire Chief Freddy Montgomery said.

This new trailer carries specialized tools and equipment for technically trained firefighters, allowing for a proper response to technical rescue calls such as trench rescue, confined space and structural collapse incidents.

CFR’s Maintenance Division spent more than 30 hours designing and outfitting the trailer.

“I decided to focus on both our people and our equipment with a rapid deployment plan to ensure we could be flexible and always prepared to meet the call,” Chief Montgomery said. “This is a step in that direction with a lot more to come! Stay tuned -- CFR is all in.”
