CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Clarksville Police Department will offer a free Citizen’s Police Academy for adults 21 and over that will offer training on key law enforcement practices and illustrate how police officers work with the community.
Academy attendees will meet officers serving in various areas of law enforcement, such as patrol, criminal investigations, K-9 operations and the Crisis Response Unit. They also will participate in police vehicle operations, firearms instruction, E 9-1-1 call response and use-of-force decision exercises.
The 12-week academy Citizen's Police Academy 2020 will be 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, March 3 to May 26. Applicants must be willing to make a commitment to attend each class, and the academy is limited to a class of 40 citizens.
