 Clarksville elected officials sworn in

Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts and seven members of the City Council were administered the oath of office in a special council session held Wednesday afternoon at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center.

Mayor Pitts took the oath from City Judge Charles Smith, and now begins his second term in the City's highest office.

"Serving in elected office, especially a local government office, is a great honor," said Mayor Pitts.  "I look forward to continuing the progress we have made over the past four years, and will work diligently to ensure our city is safe for everyone. While we have enjoyed tremendous prosperity, we still have work to do."

On Nov. 8, 2021, Mayor Pitts was re-elected for a second term, in the 2022 State General and Clarksville City Elections.
