Mayors proclaim Safe Boating Week

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- City of Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts and Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett, have proclaimed May 18-24 as Safe Boating Week.

As the busy summer season of on-the-water activities begins with the Memorial Day Weekend, the U.S. Coast Guard and the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 11-07, Clarksville/Fort Campbell, cautions every boater to be safe on the water.

The National Safe Boating Week Proclamation encourages all boaters to wear their life jackets, know the “Rules of the Road” on the water, boat responsibly and take a safe boating class.
