[ARCHIVED] Winners announced for 2021 Barbeque Bash

BBQ Bash

CLARKSVILLE, Tennessee – The City of Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department hosted Clarksville’s fifth annual Clarksville Barbeque Bash on Saturday, Oct. 9 at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center. The Barbecue Bash featured a barbecue competition, people’s choice tasting, cornhole tournament, artisan vendors and kids activities.

BARBEQUE COMPETITION

Twenty-four professional and backyard cooks met to compete for ultimate grill master bragging rights and a chance to win $5,000 in cash prizes. Each team was evaluated in their respective meat categories of pork, chicken, and ribs based on taste, appearance, and texture. 

Trophies and cash prizes were awarded to the following:

Grand Champion $1,000 

BIG B'S BBQ - Brian Morrison

Chicken

($650) BIG B'S BBQ - Brian Morrison

($400) Smokin' Hot Guys - Brian Easley  

($250) Smokers Incorporated - Jerry Copeland

Pork

($650) The Big Orange Smokers - Perry Pratt

($400) BIG B'S BBQ - Brian Morrison

($250) Piggy Smalls & the Spice Boys - Logan Chestnut, Houston Lyle, Burton Coleman

Ribs

($650) BIG B'S BBQ - Brian Morrison

($400) The Blazers - Joseph McCord

($250)The Big Orange Smokers - Perry Pratt

People's Choice $100

Travis BBQ - Mike Travis

Cornhole

The Barbecue Bash also included a cornhole tournament. Fourteen teams played for trophies and cash prizes with the following three teams coming out on top:

($350) Donald Griffin and Lucas Robards

($150) Doug Parker and Bryce Jefferson

($50) Torry Bennight and Carl McCullough
