Characteristics

The bright lavender flowers of eastern redbud brighten wooded areas throughout Tennessee before leaves form on trees in the spring during March or April. It is a small tree with a multiple trunk habit with heights of up to 30 feet tall, common in the under story and along roadsides. It performs better in full sun in the north and light shade in the south.
