Risk Management is defined as the activities, policies, procedures, and systems that are combined to reduce the City's exposure to loss, and to protect the health, safety, and welfare of employees of the City. Risk Management's central function is to monitor and manage the variety of areas that provide specific loss protection. Risk Management also focuses on reducing the occurrences of personal injury and property damage associated with the different kinds of accidents that may occur. Essentially, Risk Management acts as the gatekeeper for any claim associated with the City. Risk Management is a resource for information relating to risk, insurance, and safety issues for all departments within the City.
Individuals who wish to file a liability claim with the City of Clarksville should fill out the Liability Claim Form (PDF). Once completed, the finished claim form should be signed and returned to Risk Management. Please attach two estimates for repair or your receipts for repair to the claim form.
Please note that submission of a claim does not guarantee approval. The City of Clarksville, under the Tennessee Government Tort Liability Acts (TGTLA), has immunity from certain liabilities and will follow the TGTLA in determining claim liability. Please reference the TGTLA section for further details.
