The mission of the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is to provide outstanding, efficient, safe, well-organized programs and facilities in order to enhance their daily lives through the provision of a broad range of healthful and fun leisure opportunities and to do it with a smile.
Clarksville has a wide base of recreational venues that satisfies many sports enthusiasts’ needs.
The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department offers 22 parks, three community centers, and the uplands Trail for recreational opportunities. The department also maintains facilities for most recreational sports league play in the city and manages the seven community pools located in the area.
Heritage Park, one of the state &s top soccer and softball sites, has eight baseball and softball fields and nine soccer fields and is host to several statewide and regional soccer and softball tournaments. The Complex is the site for recreational league play as well as host to a number of area tournaments.
Special programs and events are coordinated during the year for all ages. The Summer Program is just one of the programs offered by the department. It is a six-week program that provides safe and entertaining recreational activities for youth ages 6-16. The program is free and is hosted at 10 or more sites around the area each summer.
