PARK WATCH
A neighborhood park should be a friendly place for children and their families to gather and enjoy the outdoors. Our parks are usually filled with the sight of busy playgrounds and the sounds of picnics, ball games, and laughter. Unfortunately, sometimes criminal and undesirable behaviors occur in these public sanctuaries, making them inhospitable to residents and hampering community spirit. There is something we can do to help prevent this, however. Together, with the efforts of a Park Watch, we can protect our parks, boost the value of property in our communities, and keep our neighborhoods wholesome and safe - but we need your help!
What is Park Watch?
Park Watch is a joint effort between citizens and the Clarksville Park Rangers. It’s designed to ensure the safety of our neighborhood parks. Its aim is to enhance neighborhood security, heighten the community's power of observation, and encourage mutual assistance and concern among neighbors. The Park Watch program gives residents greater control in neighborhood crime prevention.
The objective of Park Watch is to reduce crime in city parks by:
1. Increasing citizens' awareness of crime.
2. Encouraging citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies in reporting crimes.
3. Developing a neighborhood action program in which citizens watch local parks and report suspicious activities to local authorities.
