Softball Guidelines

FLAG FOOTBALL LEAGUE The registration deadline has been extended for one more week for the new men’s flag football league that begins later this month. Teams can register through 4/11/08 by paying a $100 deposit. Games begin April 27th. YOUTH BASEBALL, SOFTBALL and TEEBALL LEAGUE Registration also ends 4/11 for the Youth Baseball, Softball and Teeball league at Heritage Park. You must bring a birth certificate if registering your child for the first time and the league is open to boys and girls ages 5-12. No prior skills are needed and the emphasis of this league is on learning the game, not winning or losing. For more information or to get involved as a coach or team sponsor, please call 645-7476. HERSHEY TRACK AND FIELD PROGRAM Attention Boys ' Girls Ages 9-14: If you like to run, jump, or throw, you can sign up now for the 2007 Hershey Track ' Field Program. Practices are being held on Tuesdays at Burt-Cobb Community Center and on Thursdays at Kleeman Community Center from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. A local meet will be held at 9 am on May 10 at Kenwood High School Track. You can sign up at Crow, Kleeman, or Burt-Cobb Community Centers. Parents, please bring your child’s birth certificate when registering for the first time. To volunteer to coach, keep score, or time runners, contact the Burt-Cobb Community Center at (931) 552-1263 SOFTBALL ID CARDS All softball players must have a Softball ID card to play at Heritage Park. Players can have their card made at the Parks and Recreation office weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ID cards can also be obtained at the city’s three community centers during normal business hours. The cost for a Softball ID card is $3 for Montgomery County residents and $13 for out of county residents. The card will be valid for two years.
