Special events throughout the year are coordinated to provide fitness and leisure activities to all segments of the population. From fitness events like the Queen City Road Race, Clarksville Sportsfest, and the 50+ Olympics to family and leisure events like the Family Campout, Clarksville Downtown Market, and Christmas on the Cumberland - there is always something everyone can enjoy!

Clarksville Sportsfest

Location: Wilma Rudolph Event Center
Fee: Free
This free event is a celebration of sports and athletics available in Clarksville and surrounding areas. It will feature sports demonstrations, interactive areas, and an exposition area with a wide variety of the community’s athletic and outdoor clubs, businesses, and organizations. Location: Liberty Park Amphitheater
Enjoy free movies under the stars and join us for pre-show activities an hour before each showing.
Liberty Live concert series will take place on both August 20 and September 24 before the movie. Bring a blanket, lawn chairs, and picnic dinner. Please leave pets and alcohol at home. Riverfest

Back for the 29th year, Riverfest is Clarksville’s longest running outdoor music festival. Set on the banks of the Cumberland River, this FREE celebration showcases the music, art, family recreation, and culture that makes Clarksville great. For more information click here.

Location: Kleeman Recreation Center

This cookout-style luncheon is being held for adults ages 50 and older to showcase senior activities offered by Clarksville Parks + Recreation, promote health awareness, and to gain feedback as to what additional programs to offer. Canoe + Kayak Float

Location: Robert Clark Park to Billy Dunlop Park
Fee: Free
Canoe and kayak enthusiasts are invited to float the river with us! Participants must provide their own equipment. Pre-registration is required and open to all ages. Transportation to the float site will leave Billy Dunlop Park by 7:50am. For more information click here.

Paralympic Sport Club Clarksville invites youth and adults with special needs/disabilities to come out and explore a multitude of adaptive recreation opportunities. No previous skill or experience is needed. Activities will include seated volleyball, achery, wheelchair basketball, beep kickball, and more. Trail Cleanup

Location: Clarksville Greenway (Pollard Road Trailhead)
Our trails need constant maintenance, but to make it more fun, we schedule volunteer maintenance days throughout the year to help keep them in shape. Groups are encouraged to participate. Please bring work gloves. For more information click here.

NEW! Great Pumpkin Carving Contest
Friday, October 28 • 4:00pm-6:00pm
Location: Crow Recreation Center
Fee: $7 per team
Join us for a family-friendly pumpkin carving contest. Participants must register in advance. Pumpkins are carved on-site by teams of two to four people, with at least one adult and one child in each party. All carved pumpkins will then be judged by popular vote at the Fright on Franklin event (Saturday, October 29). Pumpkins and carving tools will be provided. For more information click here.

NEW! Zombie 5K Chase Race

Location: Liberty Park
Fee: $25 per person
Find out how fast you can escape as zombies take over Liberty Park. Try and survive the apocalypse by using your brains and disguises to outsmart hungry zombies along the 3.1-mile trail. All fitness levels are welcome. Ages 5 and up. Register online by October 2 at

Fright on Franklin

Location: Downtown Clarksville

Every year, Historic Downtown Clarksville transforms into a frightfully fun night for the entire family. Dress to impress for the popular costume contest. This contest is open to all ages and registration is required beginning on October 1. Spots fill up fast! There will be themed activities and safe trick-or-treating on Franklin Street.

Adaptive Swim Day

Location: New Providence Pool
Fee: $1.50 per person
Learn more about our Adaptive Swim Program, become familiar with the pool, and meet our instructors. Swimmers will have the opportunity to get in the water, access Wibits, and enjoy refreshments. For more information click here. 

Christmas on the Cumberland

Location: McGregor Park

Make sure to stop at the Cumberland Riverwalk to witness two million Christmas lights on display. It’s the perfect spot for families during the holiday season. Community organizations will lead seasonal crafts, dances, and activities on December 10 and 17. For more information click here.

Christmas Parade

Location: Downtown Clarksville
Be a part of a Clarksville tradition by participating in this year’s annual night-time event by walking, preparing a float, or driving a fun vehicle all decked out in holiday cheer! This year’s theme is “Christmas Trees & Memories”. All participants are encouraged to embrace the theme through music, dress, and décor. The deadline to enter is November 30. New Year's Eve Splash
