Schedule of Building Permit Fees:

The cost of a building permit for any new single family-housing unit will be twenty-six cents ($0.26) per square foot. The fee rate is applicable to total heated and unheated square footage. This fee reflects the combined cost of building and development inspection services provided by the city offices of building and codes, street department and fire services. Building and Codes will randomly sample a minimum of twenty (20) percent of each builders building permit requests to physically measure, validate and document the square footage result before final inspection. If the requested building permit footage is less than measured footage, the builder will pay the difference, in full and the building permit amended to reflect the measured square footage and fee collected before final inspection. At any time, the Building and Codes department may request construction plans as part of the validation process. A mandatory inflation factor of one cent ($0.01) per year will be applied.
